馬來西亞吉隆坡一所伊斯蘭教寄宿學校14日發生大火，造成至少24名師生不幸身亡，馬來西亞當局表示，這是20年來死傷最慘重的火災之一。

當地消防局透露，在14日凌晨5時左右獲報，並迅速趕往現場進行救援，但卻無力挽回24名師生的性命。

聯邦直轄區部長表示，師生們雖拚命地試圖逃離惡火，但金屬柵欄卻使他們無法逃離失火大樓，因而被活活燒死。

吉隆坡警長阿瑪（Amar Singh）也透露，「很不幸地該大樓只有一個出口，因此師生們無法逃生」並說：「屍體全都燒焦了。」

目前，當局正在就起火原因進行調查。
